Snohomish Art Gallery

Hello!
Week 1: I just recently got accepted at Arts of Snohomish Art Gallery for my paintings and pins. After years of painting, making jewelry for friends, and just generally crafting about I am glad to have a venue to display my stuff.
I have painted for years, have made jewelry for just a few,. Gone through all the stages of painting English landscapes in watercolor, painted people's pets, experimented with pottery, and now just fell in love with Acrylics with fabric mesh, and added jewelry findings, or glass globs, or wood or whatever takes my interest. So now I am a mixed media artist, with a craft-style inner Martha Stewart. And yes, yes indeed, I so do love decorative art. And color. Loads of rich color.
I hung my paintings up on March 1st which I took to be auspicious as it is St. Davids Day (as St. David is the patron Saint of Wales, UK) It was fun and I was helped by a kind member of the Arts of Snohomish Art Gallery to hang my paintings. The gallery is a small one on First Street in the beautiful city of Downtown Snohomish. It has brick walls, and heavy wood beams, is a long narrow gallery with a lovely bay window to the street. It is part of the historic district and used to house the local jail. I do wonder if there be ghosts. I wouldn't be at all surprised.
There are about 20+ delightful members of this art gallery. 4 of us newbies.  It is a co-op and everyone pitches in. Work ranges from watercolors to acrylic, pastel and oil. There are photographs and prints, jewelry and fused glass. A typical small gallery with a lot of character and style. If you have a chance drop by and see if anything takes your fancy!

Hello there, Yes you are right. A gallery is a great place to showcase artwork. People can see the work, gauge whether or not it will fit the wall area they may be thinking about, or whether the color or texture is something that they like. Am very happy to have the opportunity to show these. The gallery changes wall arrangements on a regular basis and this helps to keep things interesting. Mother's Day is arriving next month, and so there are many ideas worth taking a look at. Thanks for your interest and comments:)
